Architectural Intelligence - Adapting to AI Enabled Workflows

As architectural practices evolve with each wave of technological innovation, AI presents both unprecedented opportunities and new challenges. Unlike past technological shifts, AI is a paradigm shift that challenges how we design, think, and innovate. For the next generation of architects, the question is not whether to use AI, but how to critically engage with it while preserving the core of architectural intelligence.

This session goes beyond the hype, breaking down how AI actually works and how architects can wield it with intent. With real-world examples and a practical exploration of emerging technologies, we will engage with the different probabilities of what it means to practice architecture in an AI-driven era, balancing automation with authorship and technology with human-centered design.

Victoria Ikede

Victoria Ikede is a BIM Coordinator, and member of the Design Through Technology and Innovation group at Architecture49. She holds a Master’s with Distinction in Architectural Design from the University of Sheffield, where she worked briefly as a Research and Teaching Assistant for the Computational Design Studio. She also obtained a Dual Master’s Degree in Building Information Modelling as an Erasmus+ Scholar from the Politecnico Di Milano Italy, and University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, respectively.

A recognized speaker, she has delivered lectures on the intersection of AI and architectural practice for organizations such as the Royal Institute of Architecture Canada, the AIA (American Institute of Architects) Canadian Society, Toronto Metropolitan University, and the Alberta Association of Architects. She also participated as a panelist in the Navigating the Impact of AI in Architecture discussion at the widely attended Buildings Show Conference in Toronto.

With a career rooted in innovation, she brings expertise across multiple areas of AEC digital literacy, including rendering and visualization, BIM, data visualization and analytics, API-driven automation, point clouds, 3D scanning and photogrammetry, computational design and coding, environmental and energy modeling, VR, Digital fabrication, 3D printing, and Artificial Intelligence.
At Architecture49, Victoria is exploring AI applications to optimize business processes and harness BIM data for predictive analytics on projects. Her focus is on promoting technological inclusivity through AI adoption.

As the creator of The BIM Mentor YouTube channel, she educates industry professionals on building custom tools for unique challenges by leveraging APIs.
