Materials Schedule: Practice & Journey with Carlo Scarpa, Pietro Porcinai & Modernism

This lecture will chart the practical, intellectual and moral journey of Duncan’s practice as an independent landscape architect, a glimpse of where he sits within the profession, the range of influences that have informed this entire story, specifically that of Scarpa & Porcinai, and the personal connections that have lead to the development of his practice. Ideas about how practice can be both situated within the specific, or local, yet still ascribe to universal ‘rules’ will be explored, along with a visual exploration of both sites of interest to Duncan and his own projects.
