Making Space to Make Space
Mindfulness Sessions
This is a free online drop-in session open to students, staff, and alumni of FAUM from February 4th – April 29th, 2021.
Each session will include an introduction of a mindfulness practice, a guided mindfulness meditation, and may include an opportunity for reflection and discussion.
Facilitators:
Florence Parent-Beaudin, M.Arch Candidate, B.Arch
Alixa Lacerna, M.Arch Candidate, B.EnvD
A few gentle notes:
- You don’t need to have previous experience in meditation or mindfulness.
- We’ll start the Zoom at 12:55 PM to give time for people to come in. The session will start at 1:00 PM.
- It’s okay if you come in a little late.
- Come as you are, wandering thoughts and low feelings included.
- You’re welcome to use a blanket in case you feel cold.
- You’re encouraged to sit cross-legged on the floor, lie down or sit on the edge of a seat. If you’re not used to sitting cross-legged for an extended period, grab a few books (a block, cushion, or anything) to lift your hips.
- You may choose to turn your camera off for the whole duration of the session.
- If you feel called to share, you’re welcome to turn your microphone and camera on.
We hope to see you there!
