Geopolymer Cement Workshop
The C.A.S.T. Workshop Series invites you to pre-register early for our Geopolymer Cement Workshop!
Register via email: rodney.latourelle@umanitoba.ca
The workshop, led by C.A.S.T. Researcher-in-Residence Rodney LaTourelle, will take place on Friday, November 10, from 9:30 - 4:30 at C.A.S.T. Lunch will be provided for participants.
The workshop is a geopolymer cement primer, examining the ‘culture of concrete’ in the context of an industry that must rapidly decarbonize. An ecologically friendly alternative Portland cement, Geopolymer is made from industrial waste materials. Participants will create basic molds and have the opportunity to create geopolymer cement mixes using recycled aggregate and pigment. Symbolic of earthy friendly transformation, the focus is on a sculptural approach with this alternative material.
