CanU is an after-school mentoring program that introduces under resourced Winnipeg youth at more than 15 area schools to the dream of a post-secondary education. They provide multi-week programming where local children and university student-mentors build positive relationships and participate in a variety of educational experiences hosted by partnering faculties at the University of Manitoba.
Nutrition Education and Community Outreach (NECO) is a student group at the University of Manitoba working collectively towards promoting nutrition related topics on campus and in the community by supporting Food and Human Nutritional Science students with relevant information, resources, and networking opportunities. NECO maintains the Nutrition Education Library, a free education resources lending library for FHNS students, faculty, and staff members.
Manitoba Agriculture and Food Knowledge Exchange (MAKE) is where we share Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences research that is shaping agriculture and food production in Manitoba and around the world.

The Food and Human Nutritional Sciences Graduate Student Association serves all graduate students from the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences within the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. FHNS GSA offers the student body social events and activities, which allow students to build and foster relationships with their fellow students, while also acquiring various professional development skills for their future success. FHNS GSA also represents the students at the department and faculty meetings and at various campus committees.
The Postdocs and Research Associates Organization (PDRAO) at the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences is committed to representing and serving the needs of postdoctoral fellows and research associates at the department level. Its mission is to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that enhances the overall experience of PDFs and RAs through advocacy, professional development, and social engagement. By organizing support networks and events, the organization contribute not only to the professional growth of its members but also to their personal well-being, encouraging ongoing collaboration and the cultivation of strong networks within the academic and research community.
