Research and teaching interests

My lab applies evolutionary principles and statistical methods to understand the evolution of human fungal pathogens. We are particularly interested in determining the factors that constrain and promote genotypic and phenotypic diversity in the context of drug resistance and chronic infection. We are part of the NSERC CREATE "Evolution of Fungal Pathogenesis" program. When existing methods don't do what we need, we develop new ones. I generally teach introductory statistics, R Programming, science communication and about experimental evolution and evolutionary genetics.
