The Pimose ta program at Ongomiizwin - Education is an opportunity for First Nations, Métis and Inuit students to connect with mentors within the university, health professions and the community.
Ongomiizwin Education's mentors are available to assist with exploring career options, making connections with the community and culture (both Indigenous and professional), and with finding ways to deal with the challenges of academic and professional life.
To become a Ongomiizwin - Education mentor or find out more about the program, please contact the centre.
About our name
Pimose ta is an Ojibway word meaning “we walk together.”
The name was given to the mentoring program by our Elder-in-Residence, Margaret Lavallee, since it reflects our philosophy about working with students as they embark on the path to their chosen health profession.
