Pathway details

  • To prepare for applying to the Bachelor of Nursing degree program, you need to complete 30 credit hours of admission requirements. These courses will give you a strong foundation and include a mix of core subjects, science electives, humanities, and social sciences, along with the University of Manitoba’s written English and math requirements.

    You can expect to spend about 1 to 2 years in this pre-Nursing phase before starting the 3-year degree program.

How to apply

You may enter the Mahkwa omushki kiim program with high school credits, or with university credits in the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, another UM faculty or from another university.

Two application forms are required:

  • 1. Apply to Mahkwa omushki kiim

    Applications open January 1 for entrance in Fall 2025.

  • 2. Apply to University 1

    Apply online to University 1 at the University of Manitoba.
