Biography

Dr. Becker is a professor at the University of Manitoba, departments of community health sciences, medical microbiology and infectious diseases and the Director of Technical Collaborations at the Institute for Global Public Health.

Dr. Becker is currently working as an infectious diseases and HIV physician and researcher with the University of Manitoba. She uses a program science framework for her research in Manitoba, India, Kenya and Ukraine.

Her research program focuses on understanding HIV and other infectious disease risk, vulnerability and outcomes among marginalized populations, with a specific focus on adolescent girls, young women and female sex workers.
