Social Determinants of Health Digital Library (SDOH-DL)
The Social Determinants of Health Digital Library (SDOH-DL) is an ongoing initiative aimed at expanding and systematizing data in the Manitoba Population Research Data Repository to better study the social determinants of health (SDOH). This project is led by Dr. Marcelo Urquia and is supported by the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Research Manitoba, and MCHP.
Objectives of the Social Determinants of Health Digital Library
- To acquire new population-based datasets containing information on the SDOH, linkable to the existing datasets available in the Manitoba Population Research Data Repository.
- To acquire databases containing family-based data to enhance capabilities in research.
- To update existing SDOH-related variables and to create new ones using routinely collected linked data, like administrative health and social data, survey data, registries, and electronic medical records.
- To define various population cohorts based on the SDOH, such as immigrants, family structures, veterans, and military families.
