Conditions of access
By accessing the UM Libraries’ electronic resources, you agree to certain conditions.
Food and beverages in the libraries
The University of Manitoba Libraries allows the consumption of food and beverages within reason and in most public areas of the Libraries. To help keep the library a clean and pleasant environment for everyone to use and to preserve library collections, library users are asked to adhere to the following:
- Non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. Beverage containers should have secure lids to avoid spills.
- Food deliveries to the Libraries are not permitted.
- Library users are responsible for disposing of their own garbage and should notify staff immediately of any spills or related damage.
- Food and beverages of any kind are prohibited in certain areas, such as Group Study Rooms, computer labs, special collections, etc., as designated by individual libraries. The following library locations have a "no food or beverages" policy:
- Archives
- Iceland Reading Room
- E.K. Williams Law Library
Filming in the libraries
UM Libraries does not allow filming in any of its locations during Fall or Winter Terms.
Contact the Office of the Associate Vice-President (Administration) to request to film on campus.
