• Student fundraisers call UM alumni to provide campus and faculty updates, as well as ask for monetary donations to our university. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and develop marketable skills while making a difference for the university!

Calling shifts are Sunday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Monday to Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You never have to work Fridays or Saturdays, and we provide flexible scheduling options.

Job requirements

You must be a full-time student (9 credit hours in the current semester) at the University of Manitoba. Please note that ICM students are not eligible for this position.

All student fundraisers are required to work a minimum of two shifts per week. Of course, if you’d like to work more, you can! In fact, working three or more shifts each week will earn you a bonus on your hourly wage!

We are looking for people who have exceptional communication skills, are personable, and can easily engage alumni and donors in conversation. Previous call centre experience (outbound or inbound) is strongly preferred, but not necessary.

How to apply

We generally hire at the beginning of the fall (September) and winter (January) semesters. To apply, login to the UM Career Connect website and search for “Student Caller.” Instructions on how to apply are found in the job listing. If the job posting is not listed, it means we aren’t currently hiring.
