Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- identify various human resource or management issues in the workplace, as well the statutes that impact them
- utilize basic statutory interpretation principles in order to interpret and apply statutory provisions to these issues
- identify and interpret key sources of information related to legislation, regulations, and interpretative aids in order to apply basic statutory interpretation
- demonstrate how the law may be applied in various jurisdictions in which an organization operates
- create employment contracts that conform to workplace legal requirements and best practices
- recommend workplace policies that comply with legislation and best practices
- understand legal processes and legislative powers to prescribe legal remedies
