STEP 1 Review

Review eligibility for this award

  • Must be a registered Graduate student in the Department of Civil Engineering
  • Must be presenting research relating to your degree
  • Applicants should be the primary or co-author of the paper/poster being presented
  • Students may not receive funding more than once per program (Masters & Ph.D.)

Note: Initial application can be submitted up to 4 weeks in advance of conference start date or immediately following return. Additional travel claim forms will be required in weeks following the conference end date.

STEP 2 Prepare

Prepare documents before application

Remember to keep or scan ALL original receipts related to registration, travel, accommodation, and meal expenses incurred while going-to, at, and departing from the conference.  These will be needed for your final Travel Expense Claim upon return from the conference.

 

STEP 3 Apply

Submit application

The Civil Engineering Graduate Travel Award Application and Expense Pre-Approval Form must both be submitted to Leah.Phillips@umanitoba.ca for review.

If you are applying for more than one Graduate Student Travel Award (e.g. Price Faculty of Engineering Student Travel Award, Civil Engineering Department Student Travel Award, FGS Travel Award, etc.), please include all application forms in one email to Leah Phillips.

STEP 4 Follow-Up

Submit any remaining documentation following your return from the conference

If your application for Civil Engineering Graduate Travel Award is successful, a Travel Expense Claim Form must be submitted within 30 days after you've returned from the conference.
