There’s More Than One Way was curated in conjunction with the Twentieth Anniversary of the Centre for Contemporary Canadian Art and the symposium The Winnipeg Effect. The exhibition explored collective art practices in Winnipeg through a mix of artwork, documentation, and ephemera, showcasing diverse approaches to art-making beyond the singular artist.
Divided into thematic groups, the exhibition highlighted various types of collectives:
- Groups creating under a unified entity
- Collectives formed to accomplish specific goals
- Short-term collaborations for a single project
- Artists united by their shared enjoyment of collaborative work
The exhibition examined collective art-making in Winnipeg over the last 50 years, offering insights into the city’s rich history of artistic collaboration.
