Crania presents twelve sculptures from Robin Peck's extensive series of mixed-media works. These sculptures merge figurative and minimalist practices, using materials like Hydrocal, Styrofoam, lead, pottery plaster, and burlap to explore themes of labor, materiality, and the human condition.

The series reflects pre-industrial methods of creation and gestures toward a dystopian, post-industrial future. Each piece reveals the hand's mark, emphasizing tactility and inviting contemplation of the body as a primal source of knowledge.

Robin Peck is a Canadian artist, writer, and educator based in Fredericton, NB. With an MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, he has exhibited nationally and internationally. His work and writing have appeared in publications such as C Magazine, Parachute, and Canadian Art. Since 2005, Peck has taught Visual Arts at St. Thomas University.
