The School of Art Gallery proudly presents Re: Collecting Recent Acquisitions from the Permanent Collection, showcasing recent additions to its growing collection. This exhibition highlights the generosity of donors who have shared their private collections to enrich public access to art, advancing scholarship, viewership, and community engagement.
Since its 2012 relocation to ARTlab, the Gallery has expanded its exhibition and storage spaces, enabling significant growth of its permanent collection. The collection focuses on Manitoba art, emphasizing works by current and former staff and students of the School of Art.
While not an organizing principle, the exhibition reflects interconnections between artists represented in the donations—through collaborations, mentorships, and shared histories within the Winnipeg art community and beyond.
