Mixed Media (Ages 8–12)
Explore, experiment, and create across materials.
In this hands-on class, students will try out a wide range of art-making techniques, including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and printmaking. Through guided projects and open-ended exploration, students will build confidence, creativity, and visual storytelling skills while learning how different materials work together.
Meet the instructor
Liza Dmytriw is an illustrator and designer based in Winnipeg, MB, with over six years of professional experience. Her work focuses on vibrant, imaginative imagery that blends collage and drawing to tell visual stories.
Alongside her design practice, Liza is an art educator who teaches with the Winnipeg Art Gallery and works with schools and local businesses. Her teaching approach is accessible and student-centred, and she regularly collaborates on mural projects and hands-on workshops that encourage creativity, collaboration, and visual literacy.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Winnipeg and Montreal and featured in various publications. Past clients include MAWA, Travel Manitoba, Dead Horse Cider, and Pembina Hills Arts Council.
