Typoems & Prints marks Norman Schmidt’s return to the institution where he served as an instructor in the School of Art’s design program for over 20 years. Renowned for his typographic innovation, book-making, and mastery of diverse printmaking technologies spanning multiple eras, Schmidt’s works reflect his profound engagement with the language of design.
Norman Schmidt earned a BFA from the University of Manitoba and an MFA from the University of Alberta. His book design for Super Paper Airplanes won the Manitoba Book Awards prize for design in children’s books in 1995.
