Dr. Aukema's research focuses on novel lipid mediators called oxylipins, which are bioactive compounds made from fats. The study of oxylipins is of interest in nutrition is because dietary composition impacts health through the formation of these oxylipins. The Nutrition and Lipid Mediators laboratory is located in the St. Boniface Hospital Albrechtsen Research Centre.
