Faculty's EDIA Statement

The Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences is committed to fostering, and promoting a diverse, equitable, healthy, welcoming, and inclusive environment for our faculty, staff and students. We strive to create an environment where people feel respected, valued, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential and a place where everyone can be their authentic selves and experience a sense of belonging. We celebrate the rich tapestry of backgrounds, experiences, and perspective that everyone brings to the faculty.

Our commitment to Truth & Reconciliation

Traditional Territories Acknowledgement - The University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate and Dene, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of Reconciliation and collaboration.

Through our Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan we are committed and working toward meaningful, systemic change in our faculty, to not just Indigenize the system and our minds, but to make positive progress on the spectrum of decolonization.
