A longstanding leader in public and Catholic education, Linda Staudt served 25 years as a teacher, principal and administrator with the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board in Windsor, Ontario. She then served for nearly a decade as the Director of Education for the London District Catholic School Board.
More recently. Ms. Staudt was nominated by Bishop Ron Fabbro, Diocese of London Ont. to serve as a delegate for the 16th General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in Rome. This “Synod on Synodality”, which took place from 2021-2024 included Catholics from around the world as the Church sought a more inclusive and representative church. Ms Staudt was one of only 4 lay people in Canada who took part as a voting delegate. She was the Co-Chair of the Synod Committee for the Diocese of London and Chair and Lead Writer of the Synod Synthesis Team for the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario. Over the course of the past two years, she has shared her experience of the Synod locally, provincially and nationally. She has facilitated sessions with parish, diocesan and educational groups along with key partners to promote and implement the synodal process of listening and discernment, to become a more participatory and missionary Church.
