Teaching philosophy

I'm interested in the professional and personal growth of learners – as they become compassionate, ethical and competent nursing clinicians who will make a positive impact in society.

Learners are encouraged to demonstrate clinical humility and take the time to listen to effectively address the care needs of patients and family members.

Biography

My clinical background is in adult medicine and long-term care.

As an instructor, my passion is in curriculum development and instructional design. When our College of Nursing shifted to a concept-based curriculum in 2015, I was extensively involved in the development of NURS 2540 and NURS 2542 (Nursing Practice 1 and 2) including the concept-based learning activities (CBLA) in both clinical courses.

I've mainly taught Year 2 and Year 3 theory, clinical, skills, and simulation courses in the nursing college.
