David Hill, PsyD

Dr. David Hill is an assistant professor in clinical health psychology at the University of Manitoba. This role includes providing teaching to psychology and psychiatry residents, along with clinical supervision of psychology residents.

He is also a registered psychologist in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with practice in the areas of clinical and forensic psychology.

Dr. Hill’s areas of expertise include fitness to stand trial evaluations, criminal responsibility assessments, violence risk assessments, psychopathy and malingering.

Dr. Hill specializes in conducting forensic psychological assessments for lawyers, individuals, and organizations involved in the legal system in criminal or civil proceedings.

He has provided expert testimony in provincial Criminal Code Review Board hearings in Manitoba and British Columbia.

Dr. Hill is also actively involved in service and advocacy activities in provincial and national organizations.

He is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Criminal Justice Task Force, which authored a position paper to advocate for changes to the Criminal Code of Canada to include psychologists in fitness to stand trial and criminal responsibility assessments.

He has presented at national and international conferences on advocating for forensic psychologists.

He has been involved in several grant funded research projects and has published research in peer-reviewed journals.
