Dr. Kinley aims to advance knowledge of mental health treatment and prevention. She is involved in epidemiologic studies of mental health as well as program evaluation, with an emphasis on rural populations.
Dr. Kinley is an assistant professor with the Department of Clinical Health Psychology. She is also a consulting clinical psychologist with the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority, Community Mental Health Program.
She is a generalist—clinically she has worked with a wide range of ages and presentations, and in research has explored mental health from micro (basic cognitive processes) to macro (epidemiology) lens. This shifting of perspectives helps to identify connections and build on other established knowledge bases to maximize the application of research to clinical practice. Her aim is to improve mental health supports at a population level with a focus on rural populations.
