Research summary

The goal of Dr. Bilevicius' research is to improve mental health and quality of life among adults living with chronic pain. Dr. Bilevicius has a particular interest in understanding and working with chronic pelvic pain.

Biography

Dr. Elena Bilevicius is an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Manitoba and a clinical psychologist at the Health Sciences Centre's Pain Management Centre.

Dr. Bilevicius received her PhD from the University of Manitoba and completed her residency at The Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Bilevicius primarily uses acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and self-compassion to work with adults living with chronic pain.

Her current program of research is focused on chronic pelvic pain. Dr. Bilevicius has published her academic work in book chapters and peer-reviewed journals, and has presented her findings at local, national and international conferences.
