Dr. Darren Neufeld's research is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes through the use of low-intensity psychological interventions in primary care and community settings.
He is a leading expert in the field of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills classes and other group-based interventions, and has made significant contributions to the understanding of their effectiveness in treating various mental health conditions.
He has also conducted pioneering research in the area of telepsychology, investigating its potential as a means to provide mental health services in remote and underserved communities.
Dr. Neufeld's research is also focused on the use of personality assessment in mental health treatment and has developed innovative methods to improve its accuracy and applicability.
Dr. Neufeld's research provides valuable insights for researchers and practitioners working to improve mental health outcomes, and has the potential to make a significant impact on mental health care delivery.
Dr. Darren Neufeld is an assistant professor in clinical health psychology in the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba.
His research focuses on low-intensity psychological interventions in primary care and community settings, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills classes and other group-based interventions.
In addition to his research, Dr. Neufeld also works clinically at Access Fort Garry and Victoria General Hospital, providing outpatient psychodiagnostic and cognitive assessments, group treatment, and consultation.
He is also actively involved in teaching and clinical supervision activities with medical students and psychology residents.
His work has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Vineberg Research Prize in 2016 and the Alumni Clinical Psychology Student Research Award in 2016.
