Dr. Anibal Chertcoff’s research focuses on understanding the relationship between multiple sclerosis (MS) and psychiatric disorders. He explores the early stages of MS, aiming to identify psychiatric symptoms that may precede the disease onset.
His work integrates large-scale epidemiological studies and advanced data analytics to examine the intersection of neurological and psychiatric disorders in patients with MS and other demyelinating diseases.

Dr. Anibal Chertcoff is a neurologist and psychiatrist from Argentina, specializing in multiple sclerosis (MS) and related neurological conditions. He has developed a solid foundation in clinical practice and research, particularly in the areas of MS epidemiology and psychiatric comorbidities.
Dr. Chertcoff completed a clinical fellowship in MS at the BARLO MS Centre, St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto. This fellowship allowed him to gain extensive experience in managing complex MS cases. Prior to this, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Pharmacoepidemiology in MS group at the University of British Columbia, working under the supervision of Prof. Helen Tremlett. His research during this time focused on the MS prodrome, psychiatric comorbidities in MS, and the impact of polypharmacy on MS patients.
Throughout his career, Dr. Chertcoff has held positions at respected institutions, including his role as an MS neurologist at the Hospital Británico de Buenos Aires, in Argentina. He has been involved in various research projects, receiving support from organizations such as MS Canada, the MS International Federation, and Michael Smith Health Research BC.
