In addition to her work at the University of Manitoba, Dr. Ana Hanlon-Dearman is a researcher at the Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM).

Her research focuses on understanding the intersection of neurodevelopmental variation and population health, specifically in the areas of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), sleep disorders in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

She is interested in how population-based data can inform our understanding and management of NDD, and its potential for informing people-focused policy.

Dr. Hanlon-Dearman is involved in national research groups such as the CHILDBRIGHT project "Bright Coaching" and Better Nights Better Days for NDD.

Biography

Dr. Ana Hanlon-Dearman is a highly accomplished researcher and pediatrician with a wealth of experience in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

She is currently the section head of developmental pediatrics and a professor of pediatrics and child health with the University of Manitoba.

Additionally, she is a co-lead in faculty development for the department of pediatrics and child health at the University of Manitoba.

She is a diagnostic co-lead (pediatrics) with CanFASD, a national organization that conducts research on FASD and is involved in FASD research nationally.

Dr. Hanlon-Dearman has led training in FASD multidisciplinary diagnosis and management both nationally and internationally.

She is a research scientist at the Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM) and has a cross-appointment at the Community Health Sciences, Max Rady College of Medicine.
