Fellowship details
Fellowship overview
The fellowship is based out of the WRHA Sleep Disorder Centre at the Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg, but includes rotations at the HSC Children’s Hospital as well as other specialist clinics in Winnipeg.
Teaching and rounds
- Weekly clinical rounds/journal club.
- Half-day teaching sessions covering a wide range of Sleep Medicine topics as outlined by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada AFC committee.
Clinical activities
Fellows will gain experience through rotations in:
- Level 1 Sleep Laboratory
- Pediatric Sleep Medicine
- Adult Sleep Medicine
- Ear Nose and Throat Specialist Clinics
- Sleep Dentistry Clinics
- Psychology Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Clinics
- Neurology Movement Disorder Clinics
- Neuromuscular Disorder Clinics
Electives and research
- Fellows may choose to pursue a research elective or other sleep medicine-focused electives.
- Completion of a scholarly project is required.
Program capacity
The program accepts up to two fellows per year.

Eligibility requirements
To apply for the fellowship program, you must have:
- An undergraduate degree in medicine.
- Completion of 5 year Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) specialized training in:
- Adult Respirology;
- Neurology;
- Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery;
- Psychiatry; or
- General Internal Medicine.
- Fluency in English.
Documentation needed
Applicants must provide:
- A letter of intent
- Curriculum vitae/resumé
- Three recent reference letters including 1 from your current program director.
