Research summary

Dr. William Leslie has 500 peer-reviewed publications.

His major research interests are in fracture risk assessment, osteoporosis testing and other nuclear diagnostic techniques.

He is founding director of the Manitoba Bone Mineral Density (BMD) program. This program is unique in Canada and internationally in its approach to service delivery.

The province-wide database includes all clinical dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) services performed since January 1990 (currently over 170,000 sets of results linked to clinical outcomes through the population-based Manitoba Centre for Health Policy data repository).

The program database has resulted well over 150 publications.
