UM Libraries is pleased to provide select services to visiting international student researchers and Mitacs interns.

Your library card and borrowing
To obtain a UM Libraries card, bring your photo identification to any of the following libraries:
- Elizabeth Dafoe Library
- Neil John Maclean Health Sciences Library (Bannatyne Campus)
Library card privileges
- Borrow up to 20 books/items at once
- Loan period - 1 month.
- Items can be renewed 3 times.
- Request up to 25 items from the UM Libraries' collection.
- Learn how to find and request items.
- Use your UM Libraries-assigned user name and password to request items.
Access electronic resources
While visiting a UM library, citizen users may use a Guest Kiosk to access all electronic resources. Complete instructions are available at the Kiosk.
Scan materials
Printing is not available for retirees; however, there are options for downloading and sending content from the Guest Kiosk.
A stand-alone scanner may also be available for scanning print material and sending it to an email address. Check with the library's service desk.
