The Libraries provides responses regarding its ability to support existing programs through the academic program review process and for proposed curriculum changes, including new and revised courses, programs, and micro-certificates. These reports are coordinated through Collections Management and driven by the knowledge of liaison librarians.

For academic program reviews, the Libraries prepares part A.7, “Library Resources, Physical Space, and Equipment” of Appendix A, “Self-Evaluation Report”. For accreditations for professional programs, the Libraries can provide information on spaces, services, and collections. Librarians may participate in interviews with external reviewers during site visits.

For curriculum changes, the Libraries provides a response indicating the capacity of its collections and services to support the proposed changes. Course modifications that do not represent a change in content do not require a statement from the Libraries.

The Libraries has templates, maintained by Collections Management, for curriculum changes and academic program reviews.  Information provided for accreditations will vary based on needs.

The Libraries has specified to the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Course Changes (undergraduate) and Programs and Guidelines Committee (graduate) that we require at least one month’s notice of course proposals, and additional time will be required for program proposals or for significant program modifications involving multiple course changes.
