Junior Bisons hockey is the provincial leader in developing young athletes' technical skills and teamwork abilities through competitive experiences and learning. UM Bisons hockey coaching staff and student-athletes lead and facilitate programs to provide athletes at any level the opportunity for success.
Hustle with the Herd
Overview
This skills development based program is perfect for players wanting to get the rust off their blades prior to jumping into their winter team tryouts.The on-ice program focuses on high tempo, flow, compete and individual skills and tactical drills.
Players will be grouped and split on the ice accordingly to skill and ability. Our coach-to-player ratio is set at 1:8 in order to ensure adequate feedback and skill development at all times, and a specialized goaltender coach at each session.
The program is led by the UM Bisons hockey coaching staff, alumni and current Bison players.

Athlete Power & Speed Training
Overview
Add Athlete Speed and Power programming to enhance young athlete's sport performance.
Developed by the Bisons' strength and conditioning coaches, this dynamic program takes a structured approach to athlete development.
Focusing on the traits like speed, power, agility and coordination can help make your young athlete an exciting 'game changer' in their sport of choice.
Training sessions will include exercises and equipment focusing on sprinting, jumping, throwing, and change of direction skills. These techniques will help develop athletes of all levels and across all sports, improving performance and reducing the chance of injury.
This program is designed to complement your athlete's existing sport schedule. It can be done any time of the week, including practice and game days, without compromising their energy or performance.
