How to connect to uofm-secure
uofm-secure is UM’s wireless network that’s fast, encrypted, and available everywhere on all campuses to anyone with a UM email address. All you have to do is enter your UM email address and password the first time you connect. Your device will remember your connection the next time you are on campus.
Setup Wi-Fi, Apple Setup Wi-Fi on your Apple device
Mobile devices should be using the latest operating system (OS) or an OS no older than two previous versions.
- Open Settings.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Select uofm-secure.
- Enter your UM email address and password.
- Select Join.
- Select Trust.
SETUP WI-FI, Android Setup Wi-Fi on your Android device
Mobile devices should be using the latest operating system (OS) or an OS no older than two previous versions.
- Select the Settings icon.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Select uofm-secure.
- Enter your UM email address and password.
- If asked for a domain name, enter umanitoba.ca
- Select CA Certificate - Do not Validate.
- Select Connect.
SETUP WI-FI, Windows Setup Wi-Fi for Windows 10 or later
- To view a list of available wireless networks, select the Wi-Fi icon or the Globe icon (appears instead of the Wi-Fi icon when you are not connected to a network) in the bottom right of your taskbar beside the current time.
- Select uofm-secure, then Connect.
- Enter your UM email address and password.
- Select Ok, then select Connect.
SETUP WIFI, MAC Setup Wi-Fi for Mac OS 12 or later
- Select the Wi-Fi icon from the menu bar.
- Select uofm-secure.
- Enter your UM email address and password.
- Select Join.

How to forget a network
How to forget a network
If your laptop or mobile device stops connecting, try removing the existing wireless network by telling your device to "forget" the uofm-secure network and add it again from the list of available networks. Sign in with your UM email address and password. Then accept the certificate when prompted.
