Responsibilities

  • Student Engagement Specialists call UM alumni to provide campus and faculty updates, represent UM at events, and participate in Donor Relations fundraising efforts. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and develop marketable skills while making a difference for the university!

    Calling shifts are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We provide flexible scheduling options for additional office work and events.

Job requirements

You must be a full-time student (9 credit hours in the current semester) at the University of Manitoba.  

All Student Engagement Specialists are required to work a minimum of two shifts per week. There are opportunities throughout the school year to work additional hours and gain diverse professional experience!

We are looking for people who have exceptional communication skills, are personable, and can easily engage alumni and donors in conversation. Previous fundraising, administrative, and calling experience (outbound or inbound) is strongly preferred, but not necessary.

Please note that International College of Manitoba (ICM) students are not eligible for this position.
