Reunions bring back memories – the classrooms where you discovered your passions, the friendships that shaped you, the moments that defined who you became. A class gift turns that nostalgia into something powerful: an investment in the students walking the same paths you once did.
If your class has a reunion campaign, you can contribute by selecting your fund and donating online. Participation rates and total funds are calculated based on gifts and pledges received between April 1 and March 31 of your reunion year.
Want to make your class legacy even more meaningful? You can help coordinate your reunion campaign. Some classes establish scholarships, support special projects, or create named spaces that inspire future generations. Contact Donor Relations at roslyn.dally@umanitoba.ca or 204-474-7881 to learn more.
You can now donate listed securities to the University of Manitoba, obtain a tax-receipt for the market value of the gift and be completely exempt for any capital gains tax. This tax provision applies whether the securities are donated outright in a given year, or are donated through a bequest in your will.
Most gifts of securities are made through an electronic bank-to-bank transfer, and can be done in a very short timeframe. To make of gift of securities, please download and fill out the Transfer of stock form (PDF).
Once the form has been completed, please forward a copy to your brokerage firm as well as to the Donor Relations by fax at: 204-474-7635 or email at donor.relations@umanitoba.ca.
If you have questions about a gift of securities, you may contact the University of Manitoba’s broker, BMO Nesbitt Burns at 204-949-7890 or nicky.syganiec@nbpcd.com.
Whether you’re considering a gift, need help navigating your options or just want to learn how your support makes a difference for our students – we'd love to hear from you.
