Facility rental
Book the Centre for special events such as meetings, holiday parties, family reunions or corporate retreats. The Discovery Centre is a certified food handling facility. This certification means that cooking demonstrations can be held in either of the Centre's two kitchens.

Includes exclusive public access to the Farm and Food Discovery Centre including the Discovery Room (classroom).
Half Day (up to 4hrs): $300.00
Full Day (4 - 8hrs): $600.00
Must be booked within regular business hours of 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Bookings that extend beyond this time are subject to an additional fee of $50.00/hour and MUST be booked in advance.
Glenlea Research Station including Discovery Centre
Includes exclusive public access to the Glenlea Research Station and the Farm and Food Discovery Centre.
Full Day (up to 8hrs): $1,500.00
Must be booked within regular business hours of 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Bookings that extend beyond this time are subject to an additional fee of $50.00/hour/staff and MUST be booked in advance. Also subject to additional fees if farm staff need to assist.
Team building program
Team Building is an essential part of fostering a positive relationship between coworkers. FFDC now offers a variety of team building activities to professional groups. Book a Team Building day on it's own, or tack an activity on to a meeting hosted at FFDC!
Team building activity options
Book a team building activity: $20.00 / person
Add a team building activity on to a meeting package: $15.00 / person
Note: Pizza Builder and Bread Builder cannot be booked in the same session. Communication Games and The Real Dirt on Farming guided discussion can be added on to either Builder activity for no additional charge.
Pizza Builder
Break into groups to make homemade pizza dough. Learn the science behind gluten formation and compete to see which team can form the strongest gluten the fastest. Top off your pizza with a variety of local ingredients. Teams will be judged to determine which has the best pizza. Enjoy your pizza as an afternoon snack or as your lunch.
Time Requirement: 3 x 30 minute blocks
Bread Builder
Break into groups to make fresh bread. Each group will be making dough with different ratios of white, whole wheat and whole grain flour. Once the bread is baked, a session discussing gluten formation and nutrition of bread will occur. Everyone will try a slice of the different flour combinations to see the differences in texture, taste and smell. Enjoy your bread with cheese and jams as an afternoon snack!
Time Requirement: 2 x 30 minute blocks
Communication Game
Break into groups to compete in a molecule communication game. Each team has one speaker who sees diagrams of molecules. Other team members are unable to see the diagrams and must build molecules according to the speaker’s instructions. First team to build the molecules correctly wins!

The Real Dirt on Farming guided discussion
Listen to a presentation lead by FFDC staff then engage in a discussion around the topics presented. The 'Real Dirt on Farming' covers the truth behind some of the controversial topics in agriculture today including GMOs, Pesticides/Herbicides, Hormones, Antibiotics, Organics, Environment and Technology.
Time Requirement: 1 x 45 minute block
