Strategy and Enterprise Analysis (BUAN 0140)

Strategy analysis is often the starting point for initiating a new project, and it involves determining the most effective ways of mobilizing the resources and capabilities of an enterprise to reach a desired set of goals and objectives. This course explores the components of strategy and enterprise analysis to identify problems and locate solutions; advancing from a current state towards a future state; and responding to new information and unanticipated factors.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • identify components, techniques, and tasks of strategy and enterprise analysis;
    define and analyze an enterprise’s current state and future state
  • plan to collaborate with stakeholders to determine a need of strategic and/or tactical importance
  • develop a change strategy for an enterprise
  • align a change strategy with higher and lower-level strategies
  • assess and manage risks to an enterprise that are associated with a change strategy
  • describe a set of requirements or designs in detail using analytical techniques
  • structure all requirements and designs so that they support the overall business purpose for a change
  • identify, explore and describe different possible ways of meeting the need
