Microbeam Laboratory

 

The Microbeam Laboratory in Earth Sciences is set up as a regional facility to serve the needs of universities, industry and government, and includes the following equipment:

  • CAMECA SX100 Electron Microprobe with five WDS and one EDS spectrometer, operating with windows-based Peak Sight analysis software and Probe Software
  • FEI Inspect S50 Scanning Electron Microscope with back-scattered electron and EDS X-Ray detectors
  • RELIOTRON cathodoluminescence (CL) system
  • Nikon Eclipse50/POL petrographic microscope with DS-Fi1 digital camera
  • Nikon Optiphot2-POL polarizing microscope with fluid inclusion stage
  • HP designjet 800ps, 42-inch carriage, colour poster printer
