UMGSA - Conference Grant

STEP 1 Review
Review eligibility for this award
IMPORTANT: This is not a comprehensive list of the eligibility criteria for the UMGSA Conference Grant. You, as a student are responsible for reviewing the UMGSA Conference Grant Website before application.
- Applicants must be presenting at the specified conference
- Papers/posters must be relevant to the applicants program of study
- Applicants must be a registered UM Graduate student
- When to Submit: Applications must be submitted online between 60 days prior to the first conference day and 60 days following the last conference day.
STEP 2 Prepare
Prepare documents before application
- Proof of your acceptance at the conference
- An abstract of the paper/poster to be presented at conference
- Proof of attendance at the conference (e.g. ID badge)
- Proof of travel to and from conference (e.g. boarding passes, plane tickets and inter-city transportation fees)
- NOTE: Students applying within 60 days prior to the first conference day and for in-person conference, must provide plane tickets and/or reservation for accommodation (e.g. hotel) as proof of attendance at the conference.
STEP 3 Apply
Submit application
The UMGSA Conference Grant application must be submitted through an online application that can be found through the link below. Be sure to read through all eligibility criteria before applying.
STEP 4 Follow-Up
Submit any remaining documentation following the conference
If you had applied for the UMGSA, prior to attending the conference, you may require to submit more documentation upon return from the conference. See the UMGSA Conference Grant Website for more details.
