University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF)
The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) is offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment. Students must be recommended by their department or unit to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for a UMGF.

Applications for 2024-2025 UMGF Award will OPEN on Monday, March 18, 2024 with a DEADLINE of Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
(All applications received after the deadline or incomplete applications will not be considered)
Application Process
Applications for the 2024-2025 UMGF Award will begin in the March 18th, 2024, with deadline to submit on April 30th, 2024.
- Step 1: Review the Award Holder's Guide to familiarize yourself with important information regarding payment and administration of UM Awards
- Step 2: Review the Civil Engineering UMGF Instructions fully to prepare for applying
- Step 3: Complete the Civil Engineering UMGF Application Form
- Step 4: Follow the submission process below that applies to you
Internal Applicants: Those who are currently registered in a graduate program in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba.
Please submit application by the deadline to the link below:
Submit Application (Internal Applicants)
External Applicants: Those who have been admitted to a graduate program in Civil Engineering but who have not start their program at the University of Manitoba.
Please submit application and transcripts by the deadline to Jennifer.Merrell@umanitoba.ca
After Submission
Any UMGF Award recipients and their advisors will be notified by email from the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
