University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF)
The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) is offered to students who have demonstrated superior intellectual ability and academic accomplishment. Students must be recommended by their department or unit to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for a UMGF.

Application Process
Applications for the 2025-2026 UMGF Award are now open, deadline to submit applications is: Friday, May 2nd, 2025 by 4:30 pm (CST)
Step 1: Review the FGS Award Holder's Guide to familiarize yourself with important information regarding payment and administration of UM Awards
Step 2: Review the Civil Engineering UMGF Instructions fully to prepare for applying
Step 3: Complete the Civil Engineering UMGF Application Form
Step 4: Submit application by the deadline to Jennifer.Merrell@umanitoba.ca
Current Graduate Students - Please submit the application form only.
New Graduate Students - Please submit the application form AND your transcripts.
After Submission
Any UMGF Award recipients and their advisors will be notified by email from the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
