Note: Attendance is mandatory for all B.Ed. Students

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 

The morning session will take place at the Multi‑Purpose Room, 2nd Floor, University Centre where there will be a presentation from Niigaan Sinclair about the selected book Wînipêk, and a panel discussion with B.Ed. students. 

The key chapters related to Dr. Sinclair’s presentation are: 

  • “Killing Birds”(pp. 28-32); “A Knock at the Door” (pp. 33-37)
  • “Cue Canada” (pp. 52-54); “The Future” (pp. 329-334)
  • “K’zaagin” (pp. 335-338)

Afternoon sessions will take place in assigned classrooms at the Faculty of Education. Catalyst teachers from various Manitoba school divisions will lead interactive sessions focused on the pedagogy of Treaty Education at the Early, Middle, and Senior Years. 

We are also honoured to welcome Elder Harry Bone, Chair of the AMC/TRCM Council of Elders, Keeseekoowenin Ojibway Nation, Treaty 2. Elder Bone will speak on Spirit and Intent of Treaty Making: An Elder’s Perspective.
