Dr. Martha Koch is Associate Dean, Undergraduate and Partnerships (ADUP) of the Faculty of Education, University of Manitoba. She is also an Associate Professor in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning who specializes in mathematics education, classroom assessment, and the implications of large-scale educational assessments (www.marthakoch.ca). As an educator and researcher, she is deeply committed to identifying and addressing inequities in K-12 and post-secondary education. Prior to becoming a university-based educator, Martha was a middle years teacher in Ottawa, Ontario.
In her role as Associate Dean, Undergraduate and Partnerships, Martha will focus on initiatives to enhance equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Education (PBDE) programs. Working alongside the Associate Dean, Indigenous Education, she will ensure that Indigenous perspectives are reflected across the B.Ed and PBDE programs in meaningful ways and work to increase Indigenous engagement in these programs. Martha will also strive to increase the capacity of the Faculty to provide holistic and accessible supports for all students as they complete their programs.
