Programs terms and conditions of use

Recreation Services is committed to providing quality service in a safe environment on both the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses.

By registering for or participating in any Recreation Services program (including Climbing, Adult Programs, Rec Clubs, Intramurals, or Personal Training), you agree to the following terms and conditions. These apply in addition to the general Membership Terms and Conditions of Use where applicable.
 

General Program Eligibility

  1. Valid Registration & Fees: Program participation requires completed registration through the official Recreation Services registration system and full payment of any required program fees prior to participation.
  2. Identification: Where applicable, participants must present valid photo ID and/or membership card to enter the facilities and at program check-in.
  3. Age and Supervision: Programs may have specific age requirements. Participants under a specified age must be accompanied by an adult or guardian as directed by the program guidelines or our Youth Facility Access and Age Requirements.
  4. Health & Safety: All participants must comply with safety requirements, including following staff instructions, using equipment as directed, and disclosing any health concerns when asked.
     

Code of Conduct

  1. Participants agree to conduct themselves respectfully toward all Recreation Services staff, participants, and equipment.
  2. Harassment, discrimination, abuse, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in immediate removal from the program without refund.
  3. Recreation Services reserves the right to suspend or revoke participation privileges for violations.
     

Use of Facility and Equipment

  1. Participants must follow all posted facility rules and etiquette applicable to the space where the program is hosted (e.g., climbing wall, gymnasium, pool)
  2. Equipment used during programs must be returned in good condition. Damaged or lost equipment may result in replacement charges.
     

Photo and Video Policy

Photography or videography during programs may be permitted, provided participants respect privacy guidelines. Photos/videos are not permitted in private areas (locker rooms, washrooms, etc.) and recording others without consent is prohibited.

Liability and Release

By participating in any Recreation Services program, participants agree that the University of Manitoba and its Recreation Services staff are not liable for loss, damage, or injury arising from program participation except where required by law.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

Recreation Services may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued program participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.
