This is what happens when passion and giving collide

  • Welcome to our Gratitude Report.

Donors like you create opportunities for dreams to be achieved. You help advance life-changing research, Indigenous achievement, and the student experience—and you did all of this during a year like no other.

    Thank you. Miigwech. Merci.

Thank you to our 4,738 donors who generously gave $29,704,358.21 in 2020-21.

With an abundance of gratitude, we wanted to show you some of the extraordinary things you’re making possible.

  • Gratitude for the difference you’re making

“Give back... make a difference in someone’s life. Do that, and it will make a difference in yours.”

Dr. Ernest Rady [BComm/58, LLB/62, LLD/15] said this when he announced his family foundation gift of $30 million to the University of Manitoba. His words have stayed with me. So have Mother Teresa’s: “It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.”

Your giving and the impact you’ve made is shared in the stories of this Gratitude Report.
You... your generosity... your vision... your passion for education: YOU are at the heart of these stories. Thank you, all 4,738 of you!

You’ve shared with us that your investment in inspiring minds and driving new discoveries, in creating the right space for people to thrive, comes from the investment you felt was made in you as a student, as a researcher, or in your career at UM.

More than 800 new donors found a way to make a difference through a place that shares your purpose and mission for positive change in the world.

It’s this beautiful connection that creates such enthusiasm and excitement. And when this passion collides with generosity, you create something big: $29,704,358.21 and a deeply grateful University community.

For this, we celebrate you! Thank you for supporting your UM community.
