Experiments in Photography will introduce students aged 8-12 to a variety of alternative photographic processes in the darkroom and outside! Students will explore image-making using the SUN and PLANTS to create lumens, phytograms, and Cyanotypes! We will explore printing on a variety of surfaces (fabric, wood, etc.), toning prints with natural ingredients such as tea and coffee, using liquid emulsion, and some more surprises!

  • Meet the instructor:

    Kristiane Church is an artist working in image-making through photography and filmmaking, as well as performance. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Manitoba and has attended residencies at Plug In ICA and the Banff Centre. She works as the Photography Technician at the School of Art, and as a freelance cinematographer.
