Peer Involvement Advisors

Peer Involvement Advisors are fellow students who are trained to help you figure out which experience is right for you based on personal interests, goals, and needs.

How can Peer Involvement Advisors help?

If you are wondering 'How do I get involved?', meeting with a Peer Involvement Advisor is a great first step!

The UM community offers hundreds of meaningful experiences for students, but we know it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Our trained student staff can show you the tools available for your search, help you narrow down your options, and connect you with other services on campus to get you started.

You can talk to Peer Involvement Advisors about anything that relates to getting involved. For example, they can...

  • Help you find opportunities that suit your goals, align with your interests, or challenge you to explore something new
  • Assist you in searching for an appropriate experience based on your goal (ex. meeting new people, learning and enhancing specific skills, etc.)
  • Show you how to navigate specific UM resources such as UMConnect and the Experience Catalogue
  • Provide you with resources and guide you to the correct office to get you started on being involved
