Sexual Violence Resource Centre

The Sexual Violence Resource Centre (SVRC) provides support, education, resources and referral services for any student, faculty or staff member who has been affected by sexual violence. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence and would benefit from support, the SVRC can help.

Supports offered at the SVRC are trauma-informed and survivor-centred. Anybody from the UM community can make an appointment with the centre: those who have experienced sexual violence themselves, or those who want to support someone who has. We can help with assessing needs, clarifying options, identifying next steps, and coordinating a plan to support you. From helping people find alternate living arrangements, to assistance in finding employment, course accommodation and food security, the SVRC is available to provide practical help to those who need it. Please contact SVRC staff to schedule an in-person or virtual appointment. All services offered by the SVRC are confidential.

The SVRC also provides sexual violence prevention and education initiatives to the University of Manitoba Community, including the Sexual Violence Awareness Course, Healthy Relationships, Responding to Sexual Violence Disclosures, and others.
