My areas of interest and expertise include academic medicine, family medicine, music and being a recent graduate!
I am a proud second-generation Filipina-Canadian born and raised in Winnipeg. I am currently completing a Master of Education at the University of Alberta. Prior to medical school, I was a piano teacher for five years. Still today, I am the lead pianist at my church.
You can reach me by email. If you’d like, please include a brief note on how I can be most helpful to you.
My mentorship style is proactive and focused on anticipating the upcoming successes, challenges, and critical decisions that my mentees may face. I believe in maintaining open communication through informal meetings and catch-ups, even when there isn't a specific question or issue at hand.
This approach fosters a strong relationship and creates a supportive environment. I enjoy mentoring both individually and in small groups, offering guidance that extends beyond just medicine. By sharing my own experiences—celebrating my successes and being transparent during difficult times—I aim to inspire and support my mentees.
I am a newly practicing family physician working in a fee-for-service clinic, where I also provide hospitalist care at St. Boniface Hospital and Concordia Hospital. Beyond my clinical responsibilities, I am deeply committed to medical education, serving as the Clinical Reasoning 1 director and a clinical educator for UGME. This dual focus on both patient care and education allows me to make a meaningful impact on my community while mentoring and guiding future physicians. My early career is characterized by a dynamic blend of clinical practice, teaching, and continuous learning.
